There has been more than a little talk over the past few months around whether the world of jailbreaking is coming to an end.

Not a big, bang of an end but more of a trickle, slow death kind of end. That may still be the case, but there has been a flurry of activity of late that could also suggest the contrary is the case. Like a new jailbreak being released for iOS 10.3.3 64-bit devices, for example.

Released by PsychoTea and having been pieced together from various projects being run within the community, this new jailbreak goes by the name Meridian, and should work just fine on any 64-bit device, including iPads. According to the jailbreak’s website, anything from iOS 10.0 to iOS 10.3.3 should be fair game, although anything pre-iOS 10.3 has apparently not been tested as yet.

Installation should be simple enough, too, with the whole thing being a case of downloading Meridian in IPA form, sideloading it onto an iPhone or iPad via Cydia Impactor, and then running the app. Cydia is installed, although some SSH work is required to make it actually work, and then you are off to the races! It’s important to note that Cydia Substrate isn’t supported until of course saurik releases an update to Substrate for 64-bit devices.

So, no, the jailbreak world is not done – at least, not yet, and with new jailbreaks being released again it’s hopefully unlikely that it will die any time soon.

You can download Meridian from its official website:
https://meridian.sparkes.zone

Inna metoda na JB iOS 10.3.3 to;
G0blin iOS 10.3.3 Jailbreak for 64-bit iOS Devices; Includes Compatible Cydia and Substrate.
G0blin is “basically a yalu103 jailbreak” which makes use of the kernel exploit discovered and released by Siguza. It is compatible with all 64-bit devices running iOS 10.3.3 except for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as they aren’t compatible with Luca Todesco’s KPP bypass techniques, just like the Yalu jailbreak.

The other advantage of using the G0blin jailbreak is that it also installs Cydia and also includes compatible Cydia Substrate so a number of jailbreak tweaks are compatible with it. The GUI based jailbreak tweaks may not work.

The developer explains:

As you may know g0blin is basically a “yalu103” jailbreak: same devices as yalu102 but for iOS 10.3(.x) made possible by Siguza’s new v0rtex exploit.

I gave Cydia the entitlement manually so it works 100%. Now I have to find/implement a solution that applies automatically to all such apps. I have a backup plan that I will implement temporarily just to release sooner, while working on the real solution.

You can download the source code from this link:

https://github.com/Sticktron/g0blin

Sticktron has said that he plans to release an IPA soon. So you could wait for the G0blin IPA to sideload it using Cydia Impactor when it is available.

Several users have reported that they have been able to successfully jailbreak their iOS devices using the G0blin jailbreak. However, there are some issues such battery drain which can be resolved by disabling Location Services temporarily until Sticktron provides a fix for it (via reddit).

One of the advantages of the G0blin jailbreak for iOS 10.3.3 for 64-bit iOS devices (except iPhone and iPhone 7 Plus), is that it includes Cydia and Cydia Substrate.

So you can not only install the jailbreak apps and tweaks, but they should also work. Installing an incompatible jailbreak tweak can create issues on your device, and in some cases, may put your device into a continuous boot loop and force you to restore to the latest iOS firmware to fix the problem.

Coraz gorzej z JB. A z chęcią bym X'a zjailbreakował. :)

Ja tam nie narzekam. Lepsze to niż nic. Przynajmniej mojego iPhone'a SE mogę odblokować.

G0blin, the jailbreak by Sticktron which has officially been dubbed as a “Yalu103 jailbreak,” has now been officially released for those who want to apply minimal effort to its usage.

This means that rather than having to download the code from its repository, compile it to IPA, and then go from there, 64-bit iOS 10.3.x device owners now simply download a pre-compiled official IPA version and get up and running instantly using Cydia Impactor.
You can grab the IPA file by heading over to the following web address: g0blin.sticktron.ne

-"So, for those that may not be in the know, or who may not keep abreast of what’s going on in the jailbreak scene, Electra is the latest “jailbreak toolkit” to land, offering liberation for 64-bit devices running iOS 11 through to iOS 11.1.2 thanks to the inclusion of the async_wake exploit discovered by Ian Beer of Google’s Project Zero. This isn’t a perfect jailbreak solution as it doesn’t offer a functional version of Cydia but it does liberate the device and allow device owners to go through the process of adding tweaks and new installations manually. But, the important question is which packages work and which don’t?

-Interestingly, another tweet from CoolStar advised that if anyone has actually upgraded beyond iOS 11.1.x, up to iOS 11.2.2 or iOS 11.2.5 for example, then they should definitely remain there and wait patiently. The tweet confirmed that most of the patches used in the Electra jailbreak toolkit are still compatible and relevant to iOS 11.2.x and that it’s just a case of a new exploit needing to be found in order to make the best use of those patches:

-For anyone on 11.2.x, stay there. Although a new exploit is required for 11.2.x, most of the patches in Electra will work on 11.2.x."
